Descripción
Bomb meets Code Girls in this non-fiction narrative about the little-known female scientists who were central to the invention of the atomic bomb during World War II. They leaned over the edge of the unknown and feared what they would discover there: meeting the World War II scientists who worked at the secret sites of the Manhattan Project. Recruited not only from laboratories and universities across the United States, but also from countries abroad, these scientists assisted in the development of the atomic bomb and often pioneered it, assuming leading roles in the Manhattan Project. In fact, their participation was critical to their success, although many of them were not fully aware of the consequences.
